Mature Fitness is a group exercise studio devoted to women and fitness. Our goal is to show all women that they are able to do something to
gain the benefit from exercise regardless of time allotment, financial status, or physical ability.
Many programs in mainstream gyms, and also community centers, are catered to individuals who like and want a "hardcore" exercise class.
Rarely will an individual find a class that is modified or slower in pace, which is what a beginning exerciser may need to be
successful with exercise. How many times have we heard the "no pain no gain" statement from the 80's used today? The truth is
exercise doesn't have to hurt to be beneficial; in fact, pain with exercise may be causing an injury or, at the least, keep a
person from wanting to exercise for the long term.

When continually exercising to pain the beginning exerciser may start to
associate exercise with pain. When this happens a person may not want to continue with the program, becoming a "stop and start"
exerciser, and never feeling or reaping the benefits of the program because they are unable to stick to the program for the
long-term.
Mature Fitness is a group exercise studio for women of all ages and abilities with the majority of classes designed for those women
who may need a slower paced class than they may find in a traditional gym. At Mature Fitness, we want to instill a feeling of ease in
exercise. Exercise doesn’t have to be painful to be beneficial. It is about progression. You do what you can, even if it is very
little. It’s something more than you did yesterday, and you build on that.
With that in mind we have classes for the absolute beginner (cardio chair) to classes for those who like a "hardcore" workout
(advanced step with strength). Most classes are a half hour in length with a few being an hour long.
As a member of Mature Fitness you are a part of a greater whole. When you walk into the studio you become a part of a family, not
just a number. If you are not seen for awhile then other members are asking about you. As a new member you may find it challenging
at first but everyone around you has been in that position. They know what it is like and they are there to offer encouragement and
support. And the program will get easier as long as it is done in the right progression.
Exercise should be physical, mental, and social and as a member of Mature Fitness you will experience all three. So, come give Mature
Fitness a try:
- Meet some new friends
- Learn something about yourself
- Feel the benefits of being physically active
- Live independently for the rest of your life
